Some relationships are too important to leave to chance. Between the busyness of school, screens, and growing up, the quiet moments of real connection between mothers and daughters can slip by unnoticed. Building the Bridge Day is a one-day gathering designed to slow all of that down — and give you and your daughter the tools, the space, and the shared experience to truly find each other.

This event takes place at Sunny Joy Farm, a small regenerative care farm nestled in Talent, Oregon in the heart of the Rogue Valley. The farm is a living, breathing place — part working garden, part creative sanctuary, part outdoor classroom. Dye plants and wildflowers grow in abundance here, bees hum through the hedgerows, and the air carries the earthy scent of good soil and growing things. It's the kind of place that asks you to slow down the moment you arrive. For one Sunday in June, it becomes the backdrop for something a little extraordinary.

Building the Bridge Day is designed for mothers and daughters ages 11–13 — that tender, sometimes turbulent window of growing up. Over the course of a morning and afternoon, you'll work alongside each other in hands-on activities rooted in creativity, nature, and the art of listening.

Together, you'll step out into the farm to gather flowers and botanicals and create a one-of-a-kind nature print — a small, beautiful symbol of going out into the world side by side. You'll decorate and cover a journal that goes home with you, one designed to live somewhere in the house as a quiet, ongoing exchange: a place for love notes, requests, questions, and all the things that can be easier to write than to say out loud. You'll design and craft a talking stick together, and learn — really learn — what it means to hold space for each other's voice. And you'll share in a simple lemonade ceremony, tasting honey to name what feels sweet in your relationship and lemon to gently voice what you'd like more of, before drinking lemonade together in the knowledge that every relationship holds both.

Lunch is a potluck with a twist: each mother-daughter pair prepares one of their favorite dishes together at home and brings it to share. The table becomes a celebration of your family's flavors and everyone else's.

The day runs 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. Space is limited to ensure an intimate, unhurried experience. This event is a beautiful Mother's Day gift — dads, take note.
