Natural Dyeing Deep Dive - 3 Part Series - By Request

Natural Dyeing Deep Dive - 3 Part Series - By Request
I'm excited to be able to offer you a deep dive into the world of natural dyeing with plants in this 3 part series. You will learn everything you need to know to start doing your own natural dye projects at home and complete a natural dye project of your choosing.
In class 1 you will learn the basics of making plant dye permanent on cotton and other cellulose fibers with a slideshow and lecture. Then you will have the opportunity to choose your own garment to dye from an array of natural fiber ready to dye garments that I will order for you from my suppliers. If you want to dye your own garment (upcylced, or new) we will scour that garment as well on the first day.
We will explore the colors of the rainbow that you can make with plants and you will choose the plant you will work with in the final class.
In class 2 you will learn my favorite recipes for mordanting your garment to make the color permanent. We will mordant together providing the opportunity to learn from each person how to make many colors with many mordants and modifiers.
In class 3 you will extract your plant dye, making a vat for immersion dyeing. Then your project goes in the pot to be magically botanically transformed for your final result.
