After my husband died, I needed to become resourceful, present and creative fast. I took what I was learning from my studies in Sociology, turned much of it on its head and transformed traditional tools into more progressive, resourceful, and life-affirming family values and strategies that could function as a vessel to weather life’s storms and help us to arrive safely at the shore of resilience.

Family Crest FAQ
WHO IS THIS FOR?
This program is for any parent, soon to be parent or any other kind of head of household. It is especially well suited for blended families, single parent families, same sex parent families, and any family navigating adversity.
WHAT”S INCLUDED?
Family Crest is an online, self-study program. You’ll receive guidance in the form of instructional videos, downloadable journal prompts, worksheets and exercises to do alone and to do with your family. You’ll be guided to integrate all that you find into your family life.
IS A FAMILY CREST INCLUDED?
The Family Crest is an ancient practice of creating a Coat of Arms and also often a phrase that captured the particular mythos, or story, of a family. In this program, we’re looking for that story, strengthening and celebrating it. But no, there’s no actual “family crest” created… Unless you want to make that a fun art project!
IS THIS A FAMILY THERAPY PROGRAM?
No. This is not therapy in any way, and all families are advised to seek therapy where and when necessary. This program should not be a substitute or replacement for professional medical care. This program is not a behavioral parenting program, however, you will gain a deeper understanding of one another as unique individuals that will make parenting choices much clearer. The strategies taught will give you insight into the root cause of behavioral challenges which will address them deeply, though indirectly.

ARE YOU TEACHING A PARENTING METHOD / WAY OF PARENTING?
Nope. I’m not going to tell you how to parent. I am going to assist you to discover your own highest parenting potential. This program draws on many styles and resources that I used during my years parenting through adversity as well as my experience as a daycare operator, camp founder, and student of Sociology and Gender Studies. It does not ascribe to any one particular method or way of parenting.
IS THERE AN AGE GROUP IT APPLIES BEST TO?
The program is suitable for parents of all ages of children. You will have the opportunity to explore child development to tailor the way you convey your values in a developmentally appropriate way for all ages.
YOU MENTIONED ACTIVISM. ARE THERE SOCIAL JUSTICE / POLITICAL COMPONENTS?
This program does not include lessons on social justice. You will be lead through self-discovery to a clear vision of what you and your family value most for your family, your community, the culture and the world, then be given strategies to turn your convictions into actions that are suitable for your individual lifestyle.
WHAT’S THE INVESTMENT?
The investment is $800 for the complete comprehensive program that will be yours for life, to return to and deepen with any time you like. The first 10 participants may enroll at a discounted rate of $500 during the beta testing period, which is currently open. A payment plan is also available.
